Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants

The Palmetto Palace is hiring licensed Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for part-time 1099 contractor positions in its mobile health unit. The medical services these positions will provide in the mobile health unit include: include:

1. Chronic Care Management

   • Diabetes, Hypertension, Asthma, Hypothyroidism, Anemia

2. Women's Health

   • Pap Smears, Referrals for Mammograms, Sexually Transmitted Disease ( STDs)

3. Mental Health Navigation

   • Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9)

4. Routine Lab Tests

The mobile health unit currently operates in the following counties, where services will be delivered. Candidates must either be based in one of the areas or be willing to travel. For every location that the mobile health unit visits, it revisits 30 days later.

(1) Allendale County, 2nd Saturdays

(2) Orangeburg County, 3rd Saturdays

Hours: The second and third Saturdays of each month, 9am-4pm (arrive by 8:00 am to prep)

Mileage Reimbursement: 65.5 cents per mile outside of North Charleston

Pay Rate: $55-60/hour including malpractice

CMA/Phlebotomist Positions

These teammates are needed in Allendale County and/or Orangeburg County.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepares equipment/supplies to efficiently collect blood products.

• Performs venipuncture, and capillary punctures on patients as directed by physician and following medical practice protocols related to safety, infection control, and confidentiality. Enter data into the computer.

• Assists clients before, during, and after lab intake. Instructs on urine collection procedures.

• Cleans/ sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.

• Inventories supplies and places orders to ensure adequate supplies for procedures.

• Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary. Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the future needs of the onsite Mobile Health Clinic (education, organizing, housekeeping, and assisting others). Organize job functions and work areas to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.

• Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.

• Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

Education: GED or High School Diploma required

• Graduation from an accredited medical vocational institution with phlebotomy course diploma.

• Minimum one year of phlebotomy experience.

• CMA certified or experience helpful.

Pay Rate: $23 per hour, part-time 1099 contractor position.
