Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the health of rural South Carolina & advance community outreach through preventive and diagnostic care supported by health information technologies to under-served populations & communities. Our work addresses a critical need for rural South Carolina residents, as they are more likely to be poorer, sicker, older, uninsured, and medically underserved than urban populations.

Coming Soon: The Palmetto Palace Mobile Health Unit

To advance our mission, we have commissioned The Palmetto Palace’s Mobile Health Unit (coming August 2019). The Mobile Health Unit was created in collaboration with the late Honorable Reverend Senator Clementa Carlos Pinckney. It represents his devotion to health equity and increasing access to health care services to citizens of South Carolina. It will help us deploy various resources efficiently and allow our experts to provide preventive services, dental care and refer patients to community partners.

Thank You In Advance For Your Donation That Allows Us To Continue Serving Families In Need.

Representative Gilda Cobb-Hunter, an Orangeburg Democrat and colleague of the Late Senator Clementa C. Pinckney, who secured the donation for the mobile unit underscored the importance of the project. She stated, “The unit is important because the rural makeup of the district exacerbates the lack of access to health care for a large number of people. That lack of access winds up costing more in the long run because prevention is missing…”.
